Intoxalock offers state-approved interlock devices that meet criteria for DUI offenders. Anyone can have a voluntary device installed in Delaware as well. The cost of your interlock device may vary depending on if it is mandated, what type of vehicle you have, the type of device you need, and the interlock provider you choose.
Offenders in Delaware are required to pay for the cost of installing their interlock device as well as the monthly lease costs. The devices cost around $70 to install and cost between $2.50 and $3.50 for the lease. There is financial assistance available for those who qualify. Typically, those who qualify also receive another form of public assistance, but check with the Delaware DMV or your attorney if you’re unsure you are eligible for financial assistance.
Financial Assistance for Ignition Interlock in DE
Delaware has a financial assistance program in place to help DUI offenders who struggle to pay for ignition interlock device costs. The program covers 50% of the interlock installation and leasing fees for qualifying offenders. To determine eligibility, offenders who want to participate can submit a Financial Assistance Application to the state and provide proof of their income/enrollment in government assistance. Intoxalock does not take part in the review process, but the state notifies the appropriate interlock provider once a customer is approved for the program.
