What is an ignition interlock device (IID)?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a car breathalyzer system installed in your vehicle to prevent a car from starting if alcohol is detected on the driver’s breath. The IID device includes a mouthpiece for breath sampling, a handheld unit that measures breath alcohol content (BrAC), and a cord connecting the system to your vehicle’s ignition.
